What Would An AT-AT Cost In Real Life?

As a kid growing up in the 80's I was obsessed with Star Wars...and I still am. I had, (have it's all in a storage unit), one of the great Star Wars toy collections of all time. I'm not saying that to brag, it's just a fact. My all time favorite of all the toys I had was the AT-AT. The All Terrain Armored Transport was first seen attacking the rebel base on the ice planet of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. They are essentially giant armored transports that stomp along like giant camels. I used to dream of having my own AT-AT one day to step on my enemies' houses. Yes I had enemies when I was six. I got picked on a lot. Well, unfortunately I can't afford one. The website Best Casino crunched the numbers and figured out that an AT-AT would cost $226.5 million to build. It's no surprise. Those things are huge and with the laser cannons and armor plating the numbers add up.

That's not even counting the over $190,000 that it would cost to pay the crew of an AT-AT for a year. I get paid pretty well, but not THAT well. So, unless the Empire becomes a real thing on Earth and they build one, I'm not getting to ride in an AT-AT in this life. Is it tough? Yeah, I'm disappointed but life is full of adversity. I'll be OK. I'll just go get my toy one out of storage and chase the cat around.
