Race fans got their fill of action at the Talladega Superspeedway over the weekend starting with a Nationwide race on Saturday that was not short on drama.

Towards the end of the race a massive, multi-car wreck that resulted in a 19-minute red flag as  Eric McClure, the driver of the No 14 car, had to be cut out of his car and take to the hospital via helicopter.

Word has since been released that he is in stable condition, but the exact extent of his injuries has not been made public as of Sunday night. He is expected to stay in the hospital in Alabama for a second night.

The action didn't just end there Saturday night. After Joey Logano edged out Kyle Busch for the win Danica Patrick took it upon herself to tell Sam Hornish Jr. that she was unhappy with him by using 3400 pounds of metal in a way non-NASCAR drivers never would--by intentionally wrecking him. Apparently she thought he was trying to put the squeeze on her at the end of the race (he claims it was just a flat) and did not like that.

Fans were not left wanting after Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race either. A nine-car wreck with four laps to go led to a two lap overtime. Kyle Busch gave Brad Keselowski a big push that helped him take the lead from Matt Kenseth. This had all the appearances of setting Busch up for the win (which would have been nice after losing the night before by a fraction of a second) since no one leading on the last lap in the four previous Talladega races won.

Keselowski managed to buck the trend by holding off Busch and preserving the win.

What a weekend. Ricky Bobby would be proud.
