There was a very important time period in American history where everyone was forced to pick a side. Making a decision meant the possibility of becoming a pariah after going public with your support. It was was bigger than the pro-gun/anti-gun debate and more imperative than the Nike or National Anthem issue. This was figuring out whether you were Team Edward or Team Jacob. And now Twilight may be in talks for a round two of ridiculousness. Robert Pattinson said that he is so down to star in a reboot of the film series that gave the world Kristen “Will sleep with whatever the wind blows in” Stewart.

Robert Pattinson may have graduated from “Twilight” to increasingly out-there auteur projects, but that doesn’t mean he’d rule out a return to the franchise that made him a star. Speaking to Variety from TIFF, where he’s premiering “High Life” alongside Claire Denis, the actor was asked about the vampiric YA series he starred in alongside Kristen Stewart — and, whether joking or not, appeared enthusiastic about a potential reunion.

“Whenever anyone says [‘Twilight’]’s their guilty pleasure, it’s like, you say guilty, what you really mean is just pleasure,” he said. “The amount of time I’ve spent moisturizing, I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice. Ready!”

I’m Team Not Amused. Robert being all too ready to play a 17-year-old boy raises concerns. He’s 32 and would probably need to hang out with Juniors in high school for a refresher. I’m in favor of keeping failed actors away from the kids. He most likely has drugs. Older men that use drugs to deal with their despair and impressionable teens don’t mix. All it takes is one underaged teen with a vampire fantasy, some weed, and a lonely Kristen-less Robert for things to go really wrong. Is this the road everyone wants to go down just for a remake of a movie that no one needed?
