Following his car accident in 2014, many of us feared we may never see the great Tracy Morgan act again. Thankfully he's made a full recovery and is back in business with the new TBS series The Last O.G. Morgan stars as ex-con Tray, returning to life after fifteen years in prison, only to discover that his Brooklyn neighborhood has gentrified and his sister (Tiffany Haddish) is married to a white guy and raising Tray's twins—that he didn't know he had!
Jordan Peele is the creator and executive producer of the new series, which—along with its brilliant cast—is sure to give it a leg up on the competition. Honestly, the biggest issue might end up being the network it's on. TBS and USA are like the discount AMC, and the only thing that unites their shows is their incredibly short shelf life. At the same time, it's hard to deny just how funny this looks and how awesome it'll be to see Tracy Morgan back in action.
In addition to Morgan and Haddish, the show also stars Cedric the Entertainer as the guy who runs the halfway house where Morgan's character lives and Ryan Gaul, who was on the hilarious and underrated Showtime series House of Lies. The Last O.G. premieres on TBS on April 3, and will begin airing on subsequent Tuesdays after that.
