While he certainly never achieved fame on his own terms, Tommy Wiseau has such an alien countenance and strange way of speaking that nearly everything he does is worth watching. He and longtime friend and collaborator Greg Sestero recently got together with the folks over at Nerdist to recreate the infamous Joker interrogation scene from 2008's The Dark Knight.
Apart from promoting their upcoming film Best F(r)iends, I'm not entirely sure what the point of this is. It's a literal shot-for-shot reconstruction of the scene as it appears in the film. It also doesn't appear to be connected to the other video Nerdist put out of Wiseau auditioning to play The Joker.
I suppose the obvious thrill is hearing Wiseau recite lines made famous by Heath Ledger, as well as the mass amounts of Sestosterone that Sestero brings to the role of Batman. He hasn't quite got the husky Bale Batman voice down, but I give him credit for trying something different.
Personally, I think you could go back and insert Tommy Wiseau's Joker into Suicide Squad and it would make that movie better. Having someone truly unhinged in the role is a stroke of genius even the best directors haven't thought to do yet, so maybe Tommy's day will come. In the meantime, we'll just have to dream.
