Today In Japanese Perversion: “The Hugging Chair”

Ah, the Japanese. They are an amazing culture. They are also really weird sexually. Maybe I'm just a prude? Maybe I spent too long going to Catholic school? But they do stuff that I just don't get. Their latest creation is the "Hugging Chair". It's basically a large chair that looks like a creepy doll. You sit on the pervy chair guy's lap and then wrap his arms around you. The "purpose" that the makers state is that the chair is built to help the lonely, particularly the elderly, to not feel so alone. They say,

"It makes you feel safe. Anyone can use it, but it is designed for older people. "[The chairs] are comforting for people who live alone -- they can talk to them and hug them. They also play old Japanese music, which is nostalgic for older people."

This strikes me as B.S. It is a loneliness prevention piece of furniture in the same way that a vibrator is a back massager. Sure, you COULD use it for that purpose...but you aren't going to. You know what it's for. It's for kinky chair effing.
