The more I see of Thor: Ragnarok, the more excited I get. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and hopefully nowhere near as disposable as the other two Thor movies were. Don't get me wrong, they're fine movies, but I've never had any desire to revisit either of them.
That sort of bottoming out of expectations is sure to benefit Thor: Ragnarok all the more. The climb to making the best Thor movie is more a hill than a mountain. It doesn't have to live up to the first one like Iron Man, it certainly doesn't have to live up to the second film like Captain America, and compared to those characters' third entries, Ragnarok scoring the best third film in any superhero trilogy is more or less a slam dunk. That's not to say Civil War wasn't good, but it felt more like Avengers 2½ than Cap 3.
I'd have to say that next to Goldblum, I'm most looking forward to seeing Hulk fight that big wolf. That's a showdown worth caring about. Thor: Ragnarok tickets are on sale now for its November 3 premiere.
