One of the things I do not miss having cut the cord of TV two years ago is all the political ads. As sick as I am of the election, I can't imagine how much more vitriol I would feel if I was subjected to countless political ads. Mostly they are poorly made, boring, and hard to watch. Back in my home state of Texas they are even worse than they are in New York. It's usually a dude trying to show how much of a cowboy he is. Literally, they ride horses and stuff. But one Texas politician, Travis County Commissioner Gerald Daugherty who is running for re-election, came up with the best political ad I've ever seen. Whatever ad firm he hired deserves an award.

Basically the premise is that he's driving his poor wife nuts because he's at home all the time and she is pleading with you, the voter, to elect him so he gets the hell out of the house. Clever.
