Colin Kaepernick didn't give any reason to think he's not ready to start, leading the Niners to a tough road win in New Orleans. In just his second career start, Kaepernick was composed and in command, leading San Francisco to a 31-21 victory in one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. Looks like the Niners will most likely keep the second year man under center going forward, but it will be interesting to see what happens when and if he struggles.
They're not really news anymore, but the Arizona Cardinals...sheesh. After winning four straight to start the year, the Cards have lost seven in a row. Rookie Ryan Lindley got his first NFL start and got picked off four times, twice by Jenoris Jenkins, who returned both for TDs. Jenkins is the first rookie to do that in 52 years.
The New York Giants came back to life last night, pasting the Green Bay Packers 38-10. The Pack has to be worried, even though they're still in good position for a wildcard spot.
Ryan Tannehill brought the Dolphins back late in the fourth quarter to beat the Seahawks in Miami. The Seahawks are 1-5 on the road and undefeated at home. The 'Phins broke a three game skid and still have an outside shot at the playoffs. Seattle is still in the hunt too, but if they get a road game, what difference does it make?
Also, the Breakout Player of the Week is now the Surprise Performance of the Week. Nobody is breaking out in week 12, amirite?
Carolina and Philadelphia finish off week 12 tonight in a game that means nothing except for draft position and for guys trying to hang onto their jobs.
