The PlayStation 4‘s launch lineup took rather a kick to its virtual gonads recently. The much ballyhooed Watch Dogs, Driveclub and The Crew have all fallen off onto the track, to be crushed ‘neath the mighty wheels of the Next-Gen Hype Train (that is to say, ‘have been delayed'). But don't cry into your now-sparse, PS4-preordering wallets just yet. The pick of the launch titles for many is still right on schedule.
That being Guerrilla Games' Killzone: Shadow Fall. The franchise is often undervalued in today's world of ball-busting Call of Dutys and Battlefields, but the exclusive Sony shooter is looking mighty fine in its fourth iteration on consoles.
This fresh trailer showcases the game's setting and plot. It begins thirty years after the events of the previous installment, with Helghan in fiery ruins and Helghast refugees coerced onto the planet Vekta. The natives, co-existing uneasily with these angry, masked, glowy-eyed bastards, know that a battle for their very right to exist is imminent. The scene is set for a shitstorm, then, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Take a look.
