I guess ask and you shall receive. When we posted the Guy PearceAldrich Killian poster, I was looking forward to the reveal of the one-sheet for the film's main villain, Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin. And well here it is. I guess they're going for like an Asian beach bum meets Captain Jack Sparrow sorta thing. And I guess since they already blew their load when they cast Jeff Bridges as the villain in the first movie, they had no choice but to recast the role.
Knowing the Killian backstory and what the trailer has shown of the Mandarin going Medieval on the Stark Malibu residence, something tells me that he's the terrorist Killian's team sells the Extremis virus too. But that's just conjecture. In the comics, the Mandarin has a pretty convoluted and mystical backstory involving magical rings and alien technology, so I'm hoping that director and co-writer Shane Black has grounded the character's origins a bit more in reality, not unlike how Christopher Nolan dealt with the 'immortal' character of Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins. Check out the full poster after the jump.
