Don't look now, but it seems as though there is at least a chance that the death of Brian Griffin on Family Guy might have been a publicity stunt.
I know, I know. We're all shocked. How could they toy with our emotions like that?
But no, seriously, that's what it's looking like. Or, perhaps, that's what they want us to think—that Brian will be making a miraculous return on the show's Christmas episode. The official description of that upcoming episode from Fox says, "Stewie devises a master plan to get the one and only thing he wants for Christmas." And what else would Stewie want more for Christmas than his bff back, whether that means going back in time, pulling a Frankenstein, or kidnapping and torturing Santa Clause until he uses his magical Christmas powers to pull off a miracle?
And the description of the Christmas episode isn't the only evidence, either. There's also the fact Brian's name appears in the title of several other episodes scheduled to air this season.
Of course, if this was all a big publicity stunt and Brian is really coming back, there's no guarantee it will play out in the way they're leading us all to believe. Seth MacFarlane could very well still be f**king with us. I know if I were him, I'd save the return of Brian for Easter, when somebody being raised from the dead would make a lot more sense.
