FUNNY

You really have to admire It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for its tenacity. I don't think I've seen a single episode since the one where they try to break Wade Boggs' drinking record, but like The Simpsons, at this point I'm just glad it's still on the air. Feels like all is right with the world so long as Sunny's on.
The show kicks off its thirteenth season on Wednesday night and this new trailer gives us an indication that the gang hasn't missed a beat in thirteen years. This show still manages to find ways to make these characters ever more despicable, and that's no small task considering how low they've sunk in the past.
For me, Sunny has always been the logical progression from Seinfeld. Where those characters tried to mask the fact that they were terrible people, the Paddy's Pub clan has never cared about society's perception of them. Adding Danny DeVito to the cast was a stroke of genius, and really gave the show an added dimension. Plus it's just fun seeing DeVito debase himself on a regular basis.
I've still got lots of catching up to do before I get to the upcoming Season 13, but it's thankfully one of those shows where you can kinda just pick it up from anywhere. Sunny returns to FXX on September 5.
