"If it was perfect, they wouldn't have recut it a hundred times." Truer words have seldom been spoken about Ridley Scott's sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner. Like many great sci-fi films, it's also deeply flawed, but when you take big risks, you run the risk of not everything paying off. With the release of Blade Runner 2049 beginning tomorrow night, I thought it would be a great time to get you primed by reminding you of everything wrong with the original via Screen Junkies' latest Honest Trailer.
If I'm being honest, the best part of this entire video is after the trailer ends and they propose other Harrison Ford revivals like Re-Regarding Henry. I've longed for a Mosquito Coast follow-up for years, let's hope that's on Ford's docket as well. One does have to wonder, if they do indeed kill of Deckard in 2049, does that mean they're gonna kill Indiana Jones in the fifth Indy movie in 2019? I'd say it will increase the odds if nothing else.
Man, I didn't think I'd live long enough to see Harrison Ford revive all of his classic characters and kill them off. What a time to be alive. Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters tomorrow night!
