Though their popularity has declined over the years—mostly due to their utter superfluousness—deleted scenes used to be a huge selling point of DVDs. However, studios have become more discerning about what deleted scenes they release, and the ones we've seen thus far from Avengers: Infinity War all would have likely enhanced the finished film.
Earlier this week we brought you an extended encounter between Thanos and Gamora leading up to the former's murder of the latter. Now we've got an extended bit featuring Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) on the run from Black Order husband and wife team Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight.
The scene is a tad unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, but it does give Corvus and Proxima a bit more depth, showing them toying with the heroic lovers. It also shows how thoroughly outmatched they are by Thanos' goons, a great counterpoint to how easily Vision was able to defeat Ultron three years earlier. If nothing else, it would've shown just how necessary the intervention by Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon was in helping to finally overpower the villainous duo.
You can find this scene and three other deleted scenes on the Avengers: Infinity War Blu-ray, due to hit shelves a week from Tuesday, on August 14.
