We've seen a fleeting glimpse of Mortal Kombat X so far. It was the usual happy funtimes stuff, with pink unicorns and rainbows and Sub-Zero's head nailed to an effing tree. Which was all well and good, but you know how it is with teasers. We want more, more, like the ravenous, violence-craving bastards we are.
Well, fear not, not-so-gentle gentlemen. At the show, IGN coerced the series' creator, Ed Boon, into letting them play a blood-leaky round or two. This first gameplay is of a very early build, but it seems that all is well down Mortal Kombat way thus far.
Veteran Kombatants will notice all manner of crazy-ass new stuff here. There are new characters --Johnny Cage's daughter Cassie Cage, for one-- and completely original and dynamic stages. On the first waterlogged level showcased, drowned bodies will float by, which you can grab and throw and your foe. And as we know, if there's one thing video games have been lacking, it's moldy corpse projectiles.
The ‘variations' of characters adds another unique element, as you'll see. Blood God? You don't want to eff with that guy.
