Yes, Destiny, we know. You're the revolutionary spacetacular shooter with ‘next-gen' spewing from every orifice. You're the next big project from the guys who brought us Halo. Calm the eff down, you fancy-ass video game you. We know all of this.

What a difference a year makes. E3 2013 brought us the first fleeting footage of the game in action. This time, we have a little more fleeting gameplay footage with crazy-ass invisible spaceships. And a dramatic old dude's voiceover. It's being drip-fed for sure, but everything's beginning to take shape.

The story --the one that's been thrust into our faces at every darn opportunity-- tells of ‘the time of miracles,' a prosperous age for humanity in the far-flung future. A visiting body known as The Traveler (you'll recognize it quite easily, it's the one that's a big effing planet) gave the people knowledge, with which they were able to colonize other planets in the solar system and triple their own lifespans, apparently. Which is pretty damn cool, we have to say.

The Traveler, though, has been hunted by an equally powerful and far more bastardly opponent, known as The Darkness. After its triumph over our ol' buddy, only a few people remain who still possess The Traveler's light. These are the Guardians, and they must vanquish the evil force by shooting all manner of angry aliens in the eyeball. And so must we, when Destiny finally releases on September 9.
