It's been three weeks since The Avengers hit theaters, but the movie is showing no signs of slowing down in the Box Office. The superhero extravaganza broke records during its opening weekend when it raked in an impressive $200 million. The Avengers has also had an impressive run worldwide, bringing in a total of $723.3 million internationally to push it's global total to $1.18 billion.
Before its release, Battleship was considered as a major contender in the Box Office, but now that the figures from the weekend are in, it seems like Battleship is the one that's sinking.
It was a pretty dismal opening weekend for Battleship, which brought in just $25.3 million despite a massive $200 million budget. The movie fared better in the international market, though, as it has grossed a total of $226.8 million since it opened around a month ago.
The Avengers also managed to beat out Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictatorand Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, which stars everyone's favorite pirate, Johnny Depp.
