If there's one area in which Star Wars fans have been consistently deprived, it has to be the theme park arena. Sure there's the Star Tours ride and all kinds of merch you can buy at Disney parks, but there's no Star Wars land anywhere. Hell, Harry Potter is 20 years younger than Star Wars and it's had a theme park for close to a decade now.
Thankfully that all ends this coming summer when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens on a new 14-acre plot of land at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The above video features a two minute sneak peek of what to expect, including a tease at the two of the most "jaw-dropping" attractions in the park: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Smugglers Run looks like a pretty standard Disney theme park type thing where you're sitting in the cockpit of the Falcon and battling TIE Fighters. Rise of the Resistance, however, is being billed as the "the most epic attraction" Disney has ever built. While I find such a claim highly suspect, the fact that you ride underneath full-sized AT-ATs as shown in the video might just make me a believer.
The California park opens in the summer of 2019, while the East Coasters have to wait until the fall of next year for the Floria version to open.
