If you weren't lucky enough to see T2: Judgment Day in theaters during the summer of 1992, you're about to get a second shot at it. This August, James Cameron's best film is coming back to theaters for a limited run in 3D. That's right, the visually breathtaking and groundbreaking sci-fi action extravaganza is getting the 3D post-conversion treatment that Cameron applied to Titanic a few years back.
While most kids these days only know Arnold Schwarzenegger as that guy who used to be governor and now looks like my lesbian grandmother, there was a time when he was the biggest bad ass in the world and this movie was a fantastic showcase for that bad-assery. A lot of his most endearing catchphrases also originated in this flick like, "Hasta la vista, baby," and "My CPU is a neural net processor... a learning computer." It's basically like half of the quotes from the Arnold soundboard.
Sure, James Cameron has gone off the deep end lately with his never-ending Avatar movies, but this August 25, we can all travel back in time to 25 years ago when he was elevating and reinventing the genre rather than hopelessly aping better movies. What a time to be alive!
