For his part in 2015's Creed, Sylvester Stallone got an Oscar nomination and earned back a dose of respectability. People began to forget about the Australian hgh scandal and the Expendables movies and all the other embarrassing missteps he took in the years prior. A lot of the success had to do, for my money, with his limited involvement on the creative side of things. He revived his greatest character, gave him a great swan song, and didn't have to be burdened down by anything other than acting.
Now Stallone is wresting control of the franchise back, announcing via Instagram (of all places) that he was going to be directing and producing the next installment in the Rocky/Creed franchise. I'd be more excited about the news had Stallone not made his thoughts on a Creed sequel clear. According to Coming Soon, Stallone has recruited Dolph Lundgren to reprise his role as Drago so that Adonis Creed can fight Drago's son. Woof city. What a boneheaded idea, but whatever. What do I know?
My only hope is that Sly throws a bone Frank's way. Frank's been wayward of late and a lot of us that follow him on social media are really worried about him. Let him reprise his role as the streetcorner singer from the first Rocky. Who cares?
