We're less than seven months away from the release of Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, and outside of that one trailer, we've seen precious little from the film. That makes every tiny bit of information we get seem all the more important. Take these four new Vanity Fair covers for example. They're not exactly dripping with spoilerific details, but the fact that they present us with our first look at five of the film's major characters—Kylo Ren, General Hux, Capt. Phasma, General Leia, and Rose Tico—makes them seem super important.
It's nice to see Carrie Fisher get a cover all to herself, but it's also a tragic reminder of Han Solo's death in The Force Awakens and how much of a void that's going to leave in the new film. And don't get me started on what Fisher's death will mean for Episode IX. It's almost too much to bear.
So yeah, outside of seeing Kylo's new and improved scar and Hux's new hairdo, there's not much to really report here. I imagine the magazines themselves will contain some good information on the film, but we'll have to wait until they hit newsstands later this week to find out.
