If the Internet is to be believed, Star Wars Episode VII will begin filming in Morocco on May 14th. Or at least that's what the boys at Badass Digest are claiming.

If true, this probably indicates that the film's plot will return to Tatooine, the desert birthplace of Anakin Skywalker and boyhood home of Luke Skywalker. Of course, previous filming for Tatooine took place primarily in Tunisia. Perhaps the political unrest that has gripped the country since 2010 has driven away a lucrative tourism cash cow. Or maybe Morocco made a better offer. Or maybe, just maybe, this all turns out to be a rumor. Either way, it involves Star Wars, so I'm contractually obligated to write about it.

Star Wars Episode VII hits theaters on December 18, 2015.
