GAMING

The Star Wars Battlefront series gets credit for being the closest thing we've got to an open-world Star Wars action game. You could actually hop in and out of spaceships to fight enemies with lightsabers and blasters. It's appeal was that simple and that powerful. The third installment, Star Wars Battlefront III, never happened. Or, we should say, still hasn't happened because of bad timing, business decisions and all sorts of other stuff that doesn't matter to the consumer. That hasn't stopped Past to Present Online from keeping the excitement going for this title with regular video updates on Youtube. You can actually see what nearly was a super polished Star Wars action game that doesn't suck.
That site specializes in digging up pre-release footage of games. Not the polished trailers and publisher approved stuff that you're usually seeing. We're talking about footage of the game from a time when only the developers and people behind the scenes were working on it.
Now, ptoponline.com is letting loose with a 56-minute bonanza of Battlefront III footage and the Star Wars nerd in me is pleased. There's some commentary that may or may not be your thing, but more importantly, there's Star Wars action that looks like it should be on your favorite console right now. Officially Battlefront III isn't canceled, it's merely in corporate/game console uncertainty-induced limbo. Hope is a common theme throughout the four Star Wars movies that I acknowledge (you know what I mean), so let's have some for this game.
