This week marks the 39th anniversary of everyone's favorite movie about space wizards, Star Wars. Even film snobs who hate on everything have to admit that Star Wars: A New Hope changed the movie industry forever, for better or worse. I was born a month after its release so I've never lived in a world without Star Wars. I watch them every few months, (the originals not the prequels), because it makes me happy inside. It reminds me of a simpler time when I didn't have to pay the rent or watch my cholesterol. But sometimes you don't have the two hours to sit down and watch the whole movie. Luckily, graphic artist Martin Panchaud created this nifty infographic which tells, in excruciating detail, the entire story of the original Star Wars with all the dialogue. It's pretty impressive.
Has the movie aged well? It's certainly dated. Definitely Mark Hamill's hair could use a modern twist, but I think it still looks great. I have a version that isn't those crappy Special Editions versions that Lucas made in the 90's and those are the only ones that I or any future offspring of mine will ever see.
