Splinter Cell has been one of my favorite game franchises since the beginning. The idea of controlling the action of a stealth hero where precision and "detectability" are crucial left a huge mark on the video game industry when it debuted on the original Xbox years ago. For Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Ubisoft is blending new stealth-action elements, rich customization options and focusing on the distinct play styles gamers have shown over the years.
Because of the Panther, Ghost and Assault playstyles in Blacklist, we're getting things like shotguns, remote control mini-drones and stealth boots with forest camo in Splinter Cell for the first time ever. That's on top of all of the regular espionage stuff, Sam Fisher's personal story and lightbulb shooting that helped build the Splinter Cell franchise over the years.
