TV & FILM

There's nothing worse than bad foley in a big budget film, and this new video from Mashable shows just how bad Solo: A Star Wars Story would look if it had garbage sound effects work. Honestly though, don't you almost kind of wish that the film were released in this state. I mean, it would be unwatchable and would get old after five or six minutes—let alone a hundred and twenty-plus—but it would certainly help to distinguish the film from the rest of the Star Wars Universe.
This reminded me of one of my favorite videos in internet history, the a capella Inception trailer that made the rounds eight years ago. There's something about big budget filmmaking combined with bargain basement sound work that cracks me up to no end.
We all know that Opie's got the best sound people in the business working on this—after all, Star Wars revolutionized sound in film the first time around. Nevertheless, I feel like there's a small part of everyone who sees this video that wishes the film we sit down to watch on May 25 is closer to this than the actual trailer. It won't be, but it's fun to dream.
