As a non-Hollywood insider, Seth Rogen's appeal has always eluded me. I see a gross fat turd who I wouldn't drink from a water fountain after and who doesn't say funny things as much as he just moans about everyday grievances like a bitch, but I must just be missing that magic. Rogen just recently got a hot tip that Donald Trump is a pervy old man, and decided to have some fun by direct messaging Donald Trump Jr. on Twitter. I'm sure Rogen thinks of the result as pithy satire. I'm just impressed an iPhone responds to his bloated fingers.
The way Twitter works is that you only have the exclusive privilege of direct messaging someone if they are following you, and Trump Jr. began following Rogen this February for whatever tragic reason or another. Trump Jr., being in the "in" crowd when it comes to sexual predators, has taken a special interest in the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault allegations. "You think that's bad, you should talk to my sisters." Kidding. But, eh? Rogen obviously cares enough about Trump Jr. to take notice of his criticism of Hollywood, and used direct messaging to teach Jr. a thing or two about how dumb and shameless he is:
Hey dude! See you're going pretty hard at us "Hollywood" tyles. I agree Harvey is a piece of shit and people should speak against him. But... Are you aware your father has been accused of sexual harassment by several women and even admitted to sexual assault on tape? Maybe you should denounce that? Just a thought man! Have a good one!
Look to your left. Now look to your right. If the person next to you is over fifteen-years-old and uses the wordd "dude" and "man" in the same message, he might be a sexual predator. Rogen followed the comment up with a roundhouse Tweet kick:
Have fun shooting innocent animals!
Direct messaging someone and then taking a screen cap to share on your public profile is like whispering in someone's ear and then screaming the same thing into a loudspeaker. It turns from sincere (though not in Rogen's case) to sensationalist, and for Rogen, is an interesting enough angle in a competitive media market. So much rape so little time. News outlets are taking Rogen's bait. I guess this is how he keeps food on the table. And apparently there's plenty.
