Sarah Silverman has really let me down with her addressing of Louis C.K.'s hotel room chit-chats with unsuspecting girls. Not only did these women have to see Louis C.K. fish around under his FUPA for his ginger golf pencil dick, but they didn't even stand to make any career gains from the encounter outside of possibly a shitty standup gig or two. The Harvey Weinstein thing is completely different - why just ask any Lord of the Rings actress ALLEGEDLY - because burning out your retinas from seeing Weinstein's greasy hog meant that you were going places in the biz.
But back to Silverman. From the get-go - after Louis C.K. fessed to abusing his stardom for the amazing chance to cream his corn in front of horrified and confused women - Silverman, who initially was a #MeThree! enthusiast, refused to condemn her comedy friend. Once you start picking and choosing which alleged predators to sympathize with, the whole movement falls apart. And, it did. Here's what she stated about the Weinstein scandal in November of 2017:
It’s probably been the best two weeks for women in Hollywood ever. It’s a better two weeks than the silence of the past. I mean it’s finally exposing it. The enabled fucking monsters are gonna think twice now. And that’s what it’s all about. Be Scared.
You tell 'em. Girls run the world. Except the at least five girls assaulted by C.K. In a recent interview with GQ, Silverman all but backpedals on her Weinstein stance, explaining that she still hasn't come down with a decisive take away from C.K.'s actions:
Life is complicated. Love is even more complicated. But you can’t not do it. I don’t have some definitive sound bite or nutshell of how I feel about it, even to myself. But I’m also okay with that…He’s my brother, so it’s hard. I may not have a very clear perspective on it, but I’m trying to.
I don't think "Love" was involved during these hotel room rendezvous. Sarah, your "brother" sexually harassed women and didn't' even have the courtesy to give them a role as Arwen in Lord of the Rings. Allegedly. While Silverman might look like she likes it both ways, she can't have it both ways.
