It seems as though Capcom's latest entry into the Resident Evil series has been experiencing a roller coaster ride of fan reaction since it was originally announced back at the start of 2012. We've seen several screenshots and trailers now and the reaction from fans seems to change with each new piece of media that surfaces. However, roughly a month away from it's North American release, Resident Evil 6 seems to be sitting in a pretty good spot...minus that whole 'accident early release over seas' thing.

Capcom is attempting to calm any anxiety fans may have towards their game with their next ad campaign, which they've claimed will be 'the most disturbing and frightening ad campaign ever'. That's a big statement. What could it possibly be?

Partnering with London-based ad agency 'Brothers and Sisters', Capcom is set to release two TV spots for the game titled 'Cries for Help' and 'Last Goodbyes'. The ads will center on the final moments of victims before their overtaken by zombies. They will feature a lot of 'raw emotion' and are giving me goosebumps just thinking about them.

As well as these chilling ads, Capcom will be releasing an augmented reality game where fans will be subjected to psychological and physiological tests to restart the human race. Nothing like putting you right into the Resident Evil world via augmented reality. Capcom will also be selling various items on eBay such as 'university jerseys contaminated with the C-virus that causes zombie mutation'.

Brothers and Sisters founder 'Andy Fowler' has noted that 'in advertising it's very rare to find a client like Capcom, prepared to make work this brave'. He later went on to express his excitement over the campaign as a whole stating 'both in terms of the bleak subject matter and in going to air with a film that has no branding on it, and leaves the audience to discover what it's for. This project has taken us to the darkest places in our imaginations and we are phenomenally excited to see how the world reacts.'

Resident Evil 6 will be available October 2, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
