If you're a fan of NBC's Parks and Recreation (like me), or even just a fan of really hot women on TV (also like me), then you're not going to like this. Today, producers have confirmed that Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones are leaving the series together in episode 13 of the upcoming sixth season.
Lowe, of course, joined the series in Season 2 as the uber positive, hyperactive health nut Chris Traeger. Jones, meanwhile, has been with the series since day one, playing the best friend of Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and pretty much the only voice of reason in the fictionalized town of Pawnee, Indiana.
There's no official word yet as to what sort of plot contrivance will bring about the departure of Chris and Ann, but given the fact that they're leaving 'together,' plus their history as a couple, you can bet it will have something to do with them shacking up. Or not. Hell, I don't know. I'm too bummed out to posit any theories right now.
Yeah, yeah, I know the show still has comedic geniuses in Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, and the vastly under-appreciated Retta, but it's going to take me a while to get over the loss of my lovely Rashida.
Now please excuse me while I go tearfully lip-synch the 'I Will Remember You' into a hairbrush.
