So here we are, up to our butts in Thanksgiving and Black Friday and other such holiday trappings. You know what early December means: TV commercials with excitable kids brandishing toys about, other TV commercials reminding us not to forget about our old folks this holiday season, shit Christmas movies like Jingle All The Way, cards from relatives you secretly hate and who secretly hate you right back… it's just a magical time all round.

All that aside, though, it's also just the start of another month. Which means Sony and Microsoft are busting out another set of Games With Gold/PS Plus subscriber titles for us to download. Let's take an ogle at PlayStation's offerings first.

Over on PS4, you can get yourself Gauntlet: Slayer Edition, a reboot of the classic brainless hack ‘n' slasher of yore. This one was received fairly well on PC, and fans of the eighties title probably won't be able to resist giving it a shot for that zero dollar pricetag. It's joined on the console by King's Quest- Chapter One: A Knight To Remember, another throwback to adventure gaming back in the day.

Elsewhere on Sony systems, PS3 players can download Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, as well as the extreme sports goodtimes that is SSX. There's a double whammy on offer over Vita way too, with the futuristic Monster Hunter-alike Freedom Wars and the piss-takey Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken on offer.

It's quite a niche selection, as it usually is, but if anything takes your fancy it'll be available for you to grab soon.
