GAMING
chris-littlechild - May 29, 2014
Mr Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami, has seen his legacy go to shit of late. The fourth game was his last contribution, and for many, it was the last credible game in the series. Resident Evils 5 and 6, as we know, are more of a gung-ho, punching-effing-bolders-into-little-pebbly-bits-like-the-crazy-muscular-mofo-I-am sort of deal.
In among all of the gunslingin' and bicep ripplin', the question has been repeatedly asked: does the series still have the horror chops it used to?
Until the seventh release appears, no bastard knows. What we can confirm is that our ol' buddy Shinji certainly seems to. Here, for your delectation, is a little footage from his latest (and unrelated) project: The Evil Within. This is, allegedly, not staged. It's just a group of poor buggers playing through the game, and their reactions.
It's shaping up to be one of the most intense survival horror experiences for some time. But not just in mere gore quantity (although that's one holy hell of a high quantity of gore, right there), we hope. The upcoming E3 is sure to bring us more, as we continue along the long road to the October 21 release.
