The Steelers and Redskins Game on Sunday Might be Unwatchable Thanks to Pittsburgh’s Throwbacks

Hey, did you know this is the 80th season for the Pittsburgh Steelers? It sure is (they were founded in 1933), and to celebrate that original team, the Steelers are going to dress up as prisoners from a silent movie going to wear throwbacks from the 1934 season. Some call them the Bumblebee jerseys, I'm going to call them awful.

Don't get me wrong, I love throwbacks and football uniforms in general. Last week, the Buccaneers wore the creamsicle uniforms, and the Falcons wore theirs from the early 80s, and both looked sharp. The Jets uniforms now are from the 70s and look great. But these things that the Steelers will wear Sunday, and once more later in the season, are just brutal.

Still, the game will feature Offensive Rookie of the Year frontrunner Robert Griffin III going up against the Pittsburgh defense, so that brings the watchability factor back up. Those jerseys might provide the Steelers with an unfair advantage, hypnotizing Washington's players. We'll see.  All pictures courtesy of Steelers.com. Thanks?
