Pete Rose was a good baseball player who had a gambling problem. That should be the entire Wiki entry. Unfortunately Major League Baseball has shunned Rose ever since it became known he gambled all his money on baseball and probably won a lot.
Rose has always maintained that he never bet on his own games, which was a sticking point for people who don't know how to have fun.
It was always obvious he was lying, but ESPN reportedly now has proof. And? What is the harm in betting on yourself winning? This isn't college basketball where you can routinely shave a few points at the end of the game by missing a free throw as happens constantly.
What's the worst case scenario, he hit the ball harder?
Rose has been put in a difficult position. First off, he's dumb. You learn the lesson from your science teacher to come clean about stealing the weed scale early on.
Sometimes pride gets the best of you. You should always bet on yourself. Sadly, sometimes you lose. Who's the lady?
