‘Pacific Rim’ and Other Memorable Movie Monsters That Have Decimated Entire Cities

The first full trailer for Guillermo del Toro'sPacific Rim has finally been released, in what the director has declared an homage to Japanese giant monster films.

The upcoming sci-fi flick, which hits theaters July 12, 2013, is basically what would happen if your Rock'em Sock'em robots were upgraded by the government to take down massive sea creatures, who are just up to no good. Throw in some crazy CGI effects, including rocket-propelled elbows, because robots make their own rules, and you have an epic battle perfect for the big screen.
