Michael Garcia - June 10, 2016
I hate Michael Bay with a passion I normally reserve for things like racism and the cancer that killed my grandmother. Not only is he the biggest hack director Hollywood has ever produced, he is somehow wildly successful and filthy stinking rich. Which is why back in the day when I heard that he was directing a live action Transformers movie I was filled with a deep seeded dread. The result was worse than I could have imagined. Shia LaBeouf wasn't even the worst thing about that movie and that is saying a lot. Then there were 16 million sequels to it because movie-going audiences overseas will watch any crap. For me there is only one Transformers movie and that is the original 1986 animated version.
Who didn't cry like a baby when Optimus Prime sacrificed himself? If you didn't then you have no heart. Now for the 30th anniversary of this epic film it is finally being released on Blu-Ray. It has been digitally remastered and cleaned up and comes with tons of bonus materials. I know I'm going to relive the glory of this film while I pray to the gods of cinema to strike Michael Bay down for his sins.
