I don’t want to get too controversial, but I am going to come right out and say it. There needs to be a better selection of hats for men these days.

Women have so many different choices for whatever the occasion is, but if a man doesn’t want to be considered a douchebag then he is stuck with a baseball cap as his hat for all occasions. For the most part they get the job done, but what happens when I am at the beach? Baseball caps offer no protection for the ears and they force the wearer to make the decision to either protect their face or their neck, but never both.

Malenie Marden is able to wear a hat that has a brim wide enough to protect a family of five. If I was to wear a boonie hat like that then I would end up looking like the groundskeeper from Caddie Shack. Not exactly a panty dropping style.

The only other hat with similar capabilities is a cowboy hat, but it isn’t really beach gear. I just wish society’s uptight nature would change so I can wear the sombrero that I have always wanted.
