If you harnessed all your mind powers and really thought about it, you could probably figure out what the Golden Trailer Awards are just from the title. However, I know your intellect is numb from staring at pictures of sexy women in bikinis, so I'll just go ahead and explain it to you.

The Golden Trailer Awards is an awards show that recognizes outstanding achievements in movie trailers. The temptation, of course, would be to say they're like the Academy Awards of movie trailers, but the reality is they are much better than the Academy Awards.

Instead of lumping all the trailers together and comparing apples to oranges, the Golden Trailer Awards breaks trailers down by the type of movie they promote. Thus, there is no "Best Trailer" category, but there is Best Action, Best Animation/Family, Best Comedy, Best Documentary, Best Drama, Best Fantasy Adventure, Best Horror, Best Independent Trailer, Best Romance, and Best Thriller.

But wait, there's more. In addition to the best of category awards, there are award for Best Music in a trailer, best voice over, and most original trailer. Then there is my personal favorite, the Golden Fleece award, which is given to the best trailer for the worst movie.

Awesome, right?

If you want to see a full list of this year's nominees, you can do that over on the Golden Trailer Awards website. The winners will be announced at the Saban Theater in Los Angeles tomorrow, May 30, 2014.
