New Video Bridges the Gap Between ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Alien: Covenant’ (VIDEO)

If you saw Prometheus and then watched the new trailer for its sequel, Alien: Covenant, you were likely confused by the elimination of Noomi Rapace's character. Well fear not, as her Dr. Elizabeth Shaw is back alongside Michael Fassbender's android David in this new prologue film, "The Crossing," which explains what happened to their characters after the events of Prometheus.

Not surprisingly, they can't cover a whole lot of ground in only two minutes, so there's still plenty of questions left over after this prologue, but something tells me this isn't the only one of these we'll see. Alien: Covenant is set to hit theaters in a little over three weeks, so the promotional machine is only just starting to ramp up. There's also no word on whether any of this will appear in the film or if it's strictly going to be online bonus content for fans. 

Prometheus definitely had its issues, not least of which it raised more questions than it answered, but this short film shows that Ridley Scott and company are looking to set things right with Alien: Covenant. We'll all find out for sure when it hits theaters on May 19.
