Now that Avengers: Endgame has been out for almost two weeks, it feels like people don't really give a shit about spoilers anymore. Marvel themselves have even given up because the new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer is full of spoilers for Endgame. Granted they've got Tom Holland giving you a heads up at the beginning of the trailer, but that's not gonna help someone in a sold out theater to get out of their seat and out of the theater in time.
Marvel has mastered the art of redirection in their trailers constantly making us think that the villains are actually heroes or the other way around. This is why you have to take the appearance of Mysterio in this trailer with a grain of salt. He claims to be from a different earth than ours, ending up here after Thanos' snap, in the words of Nick Fury, "tore a hole in our dimension."
I think there's obviously a lot more to the story than that, and Mysterio was never a hero in the comics so he's either a villain from another dimension or a liar from ours. Either way, it's going to be interesting to see what they do with him and how Spidey's journey progresses. Homecoming is one of my favorite MCU movies, so I'm anxious to see if they can keep things moving in the right direction.
Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 2.
