The countdown to The Dark Knight Rises is down to two weeks. The third movie in Christopher Nolan's franchise has generated more buzz than usual, for several reasons. One, it promises to be amazing (and we've seen the banners, stills, trailers, and TV spots to back that point up.) Two, it's going to be Nolan's final Batman movie with Christian Bale, and if you've seen the first two movies in the series, then you already know what a great team they make.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have been very generous thus far with fans when it came to offering previews of the film. They're giving away even more with the release of the movie's official production notes, which you can read on the official TDKR website.

A new international TV spot has just debuted for The Dark Knight Rises, which you can check out in the player above. Then you can hit the jump for the juiciest snippets that we got from the production notes, as well as check out a new poster for the movie. Enjoy!

Bale talked at length about Bruce Wayne's journey from the first movie to the last in the Batman franchise.

In ‘Batman Begins,' you see the tragedy and the pain that motivates this angry young man, who feels useless and is searching for a path. Then in ‘The Dark Knight,' he's discovered that path. He is useful; he is doing what he imagines is the best thing for him to be doing in his life. Now, we are eight years on and he has lost the one thing that gave him a purpose…until he is forced to deal with a new threat to the city and to himself.

Anne Hathawayalso shared what she thought about Catwoman's character.

It's hard to reveal anything about Selina Kyle because she is intensely private and very mysterious. She has her own code of ethics, which sometimes involves doing things that other people might consider questionable.

The Dark Knight Rises hits 2D and IMAX theaters on July 20th and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman.
