Texting and driving. You know it's a bad idea. You know that it can get you killed, or at least total your car. Sometimes however you really, really want to reply to your buddies before you forget what you wanted to say, flirt with that girl, answer your boss of do whatever matters to you right now. So how do you reconcile those two things and not end up with a ticket? Well, if you have an Android phone then I have a solution. The app you need is called Sonalight.

Sonalight lets your use voice to text technology (not to be confused with the text to voice features you find on Mac's and Kindles that read aloud to you) to take what you say and make it into a text message to the recipient of your choice.

If you've tried the app before then you know that previous versions have been less than stellar. Each of the versions which has come out since the launch of the app in October. The new version however, v.3, is a real improvement over the last version. One would go so far as to say that it actually works well. This version is borderline slick. You tell it who you want (the information is lifted from your phone's contact information) and then you just begin the text of your text. Just be aware that if you use a lot of names in your texting then you might confuse the poor app.

If you want the app you can find it here on Google Play. For now it won't do navigation or other features, but the owners of the company have big plans. The question is, can they pull them off? Only time will tell but for now being able to do this one thing well still makes it a worthwhile app. If you want to see it in action then just check out the video below for a demonstration.
