A woman named Marcia Jones is suing RadioShack for selling phones that had porn in them. You might think that it was a pretty neat thing for them to do if you were buying the phone, since that's probably what you were planning to put anyways. But unluckily for RadioShack, one of the phones ended up in the hands of her 13-year-old daughter. The worse part? The porn featured children. Children! Come on, RadioShack, even we're not that sick.
Apparently, Jones bought two HTC Evo 4G handsets last June 2011 and thought that what she was getting was brand new phones. Turns out RadioShack sold her refurbished ones instead and dumbly forgot to wipe the phones' libraries clean. Jones didn't specifically ask for damages (although we would, if we could) although she really does want RadioShack to change their practices.
Selling old phones as new and charging people full price? Not cool. Not fixing up refurbished units before selling them? Not cool. Failing to realize that their phones had kiddie porn images in them? Totally not cool.
