While 2012 may be the year of the rabbit, over here at Hot Coffee, it's the year of the bat.

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, The Dark Knight Rises, is just around the corner. Add onto that the fact that, in the world of video games, Batman has just had a ridiculously successful sequel to Arkham Asylum, and it looks like Bruce Wayne is in a pretty good place right now. With everyone going 'batshit' crazy (see what I did there?), I figured now was a good time talk about my hopes for the future of Batman's video game series.

Variety has reported that the next Batman game will be a prequel to Arkham Asylum and will not only feature Batman's first encounter with the Joker but will also feature (to some degree) the Justice League. That sounds like a pretty tall order to me. Batman has had a pretty dull history of video games but this latest Arkham series has been going above and beyond and really showing the gaming industry what a super hero game is supposed to be like. While I have faith that Batman is in good hands, these are the things I'd like to see in the next Batman game.
