Old school horror hounds are going to be descending on the multiplex en masse this weekend when the long overdue Halloween hits theaters. A direct sequel to the 1978 original of the exact same name, Halloween ignores all of the previous sequels and reboots to focus in on the story of a much more mature Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) finally getting the chance to enact revenge on the dude that killed all her friends.
Probably the best retcon happening in this new film is that Laurie and Michael are no longer long lost siblings, a story development added in the original Halloween II and one that never really made much sense in the long run. Lord knows they ran that story line into the ground in H2O and Resurrection, but I'm thrilled it's finally being retconned.
Director David Gordon Green, who co-wrote the script with Danny McBride, has something special in store for us; Something that harkens back to the original film, as well as the era in slasher films when it was just one final girl versus The Shape. This new clip shows that Michael Myers doesn't care if you've got to use the bathroom, he's gonna find your ass and murder you!
Halloween opens this coming Thursday night!
