Norwegian author Jo Nesbø's most famous novel, The Snowman, is being turned into a feature film and we've got the first trailer here for you to check out. The film is director Tomas Alfredson's second English language film after 2011's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and stars Michael Fassbender as the hilariously named detective Harry Hole.
If the trailer is any indication, it looks like this is going to be a brutal, bloody affair as Fassbender tracks a serial killer who calls himself The Snowman, and prefers to decapitate his female victims. Sounds like it will make for a hell of a date night if you're and/or your significant other is a psychopath. Just kidding, I'll be there and I'm not a psychopath... or am I?
The film has a pretty stellar cast as well, featuring J.K. Simmons, Chloe Sevigny, Val Kilmer, Toby Jones, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and M:I 5's Rebecca Ferguson. It was also originally going to be directed by Martin Scorsese, and Ridley Scott was attached at one point as well, but if you've seen this director's 2009 film Let the Right One In, then you know he's got style to spare, especially when it comes to a bloody horror/thriller. The Snowman hits theaters three months from today, on October 20.
