One of the big question marks still hovering over the upcoming animated adventure Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is just how many Spider-Men and Spider-Women will be involved. The character's rich, long history easily lends itself to dozens of versions of the character all competing for screen time, and this new featurette shines a light on some of the film's heavy hitters.
In this trailer we meet Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn) and her SP//dr suit, as well as Peter Porker aka Spider-Ham (John Mulaney). It's a packed house, for sure, but if they're going to do battle with every conceivable Spider-Man villain, they're going to need as many Spider-Men and Spider-Women as they can possibly get their hands on.
I'm really digging the animation style for this flick, it definitely stands out from every other incarnation of Spider-Man we've ever seen, especially in animated form. Sony's getting their groove back this year, thanks to the enormous success of Venom—which just passed $800 million worldwide—so expect them to finish the year strongly as well.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters across North America on December 14.
