Zero Dark Thirty is an upcoming movie inspired by Special Ops troops and the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is the upcoming Special Ops-themed shooter from EA. In an obvious, yet still unprecedented move, downloadable content inspired by the film, Zero Dark Thirty, will be made available in MoH: Warfighter just as the film is hitting theaters. Warfighter is set in geopolitical hotspots around the world and now we know that gamers will have the chance to battle in two more real world locations in Pakistan just as a movie about those real world locations is hitting theaters.
Sure we've seen Batman and Spider-Man games come with DLC connected to movies about the characters but Zero Dark Thirty and Medal of Honor are two separate franchises connected only by their mutual focus on Special Operations. That Hollywood and games are able to come together in this way, with this kind of timing (Zero Dark Thirty is in theaters Dec 19; the DLC is on your console Dec 17) is impressive for two industries that have fumbled mostly in their years of trying to get along.
You should be good at Warfighter by the time Zero Dark Thirty hits too, as that game lands October 23.
