Y’know, the thing about ‘free’ is… it’s not really free at all. I know, I’ve just blown your mind straight out of the front of your face with that, and you’ve probably lost bowel control, but hitch up the pants you’ve just shat and stick with me here. Loyalty cards for stores and restaurants? It’s just a friendly way to sucker punch us.
Likewise, the monthly crop of PS Plus and Games with Gold games are always touted as free. If we’re going to be pernickety here, they’re freaking not, because you’re paying for your subscription, but still. What with actual cashtacular now being needed to play online on either console, it’s a nice enough perk.
Earlier today, we took a look at the downloads Sony are offering up for May. It’s a decent selection, but a weird-ass platformer and God of War: Ghost of Sparta isn’t exactly stellar either. How are things looking down Xbox One/360 way?
There are four titles in total. On Xbox One, Defence Grid 2 will be available throughout the month. From May 16 to June 15, you’ll also be able to get yourself toony RPG Costume Quest 2. Xbox 360 will host GRID 2 all through May, which will be joined by the already-freaking-everywhere Peggle from the 16th to the end of the month.
So there it is. If any of this selection sounds like your bag, you can get yourself a slice of the action starting this Sunday.
